A Few Words About ShareWare....
NAGS is available in both a REGISTERED version and an EVALUATION
version. The EVALUATION version may be freely copied, uploaded to
BBS systems etc. The REGISTERED version may not.
The EVALUATION (shareware) version displays the message
<< EVALUATION COPY >>
at the bottom of the title screen.
The EVALUATION version of NAGS is made available to the general public
under the concept of ShareWare. As such, you are free to copy it and
distribute it to others provided that all accompanying files are
distributed intact and unmodified, and that no fee is charged. The
EVALUATION version is IDENTICAL to the REGISTERED version with three
exceptions:
1. The REGISTERED version has NO limit on the amount you can
bet on a race (up to the amount you have remaining). The
EVALUATION version has a limit of $1000.00 that can be bet on
a race.
2. The REGISTERED version starts you with $500 in "seed money".
The EVALUATION version starts you with only $50 in "seed money".
3. The REGISTERED version comes with a statistics viewing
utility program called STATS.EXE. The EVALUATION version does
not.
The EVALUATION version is FULLY functional. It allows you to completely
evaluate the game to determine if you want to register or not. It just
takes longer to accumulate the 'big bucks' and to achieve Honor Roll
status with the evaluation version.
You are encouraged to try the evaluation version for a reasonable
period of time to see if you like it. If it proves to be enjoyable, and
you continue to use it, you are expected to register with the author.
Registration permits legal, continued use of the program.
With either the registered version or the shareware version, the author
retains ALL rights to the program.
In any correspondence regarding NAGS, please be SURE to specify the
following information:
* What version of NAGS you have
* What brand and model computer you have
* How much memory your machine has
* The disks your machine has (hard, 2 floppies etc.)
* What kind of video card your machine has
* Any other type of cards your machine has
< 2 >
REGISTRATION BENEFITS:
Registering NAGS has lots of benefits, some tangible, some not.
First, registered users will receive the newest version of the program.
The REGISTERED copy you receive has NO limits on the amount you can bet,
you start the game with $500 of "seed money", and it comes with a
utility program that allows you to view statistics on all the horses.
Additionally, registered users can obtain an updated version at any time
for only $5.00 ($7.00 outside North America). As a registered NAGS user,
you will also be eligible to receive a FREE CompuServe IntroPak, and

NAGS SUPPORT:
NAGS, like all of my other programs, is well supported. This support
is available whether or not you are a registered user. If you have a
problem or a question regarding NAGS, you can obtain assistance in
one of the four ways listed below.
1. TELEPHONE. I do not publish my telephone number for lots of reasons.
It is listed, and you can obtain it by calling the telephone company
information service. If you must call, please be considerate by not
calling after 10:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. If I'm available, I
answer all calls personally. If I'm not there, please leave a message
stating (clearly please) what your name is and the phone number where
you can be reached. It's also helpful if you specify the best time for
me to call. Since the registration fees for my programs are low, expect
any return calls to be COLLECT.
2. MAIL. This is the slowest but most reliable way to obtain support.
In any correspondence, please specify what program you have a question
about, and include the information about your machine configuration as
requested on the previous page. I answer all mail personally, but tend
to reply to registered users first since I feel they deserve
preferential treatment. I suggest using the Problem Report Form near
the end of this document.
3. COMPUSERVE. Leave messages on CompuServe via CMAIL to my PPN,
70031,534. I check in there almost daily and answer messages as soon as
I get them.
4. XEVIOUS BBS. My 'home BBS' is Xevious in Framingham, MA. The phone
number is (508) 875-3618. Leave messages to DICK OLSEN. I check into
Xevious several times a week, so allow a day or two for a reply to
appear.

form that you can use to order it.
BFE.EXE..........A program used by the NAGSINST.BAT program
NAG.PCX..........The goofy looking horse on the title screen
Q&A.TXT..........A text file listing common problems regarding
Race The Nags, and their answers.
This file is ONLY present on the REGISTERED version:
STATS.EXE..........A utility program that allows you to view
the statistics on all the horses.
These files are created the first time you run NAGS:
FAME.TXT..........The NAGS Hall Of Fame list. Can be viewed by
pressing ALT-V during play.
NAGSTATS.WON..........Statistics file for all horses. Encrypted file.
Readable only with STATS.EXE program (present
on REGISTERED version).
MILLION.TXT..........A file that maintains those players who have
won a million dollars or more. Can be viewed
by pressing ALT-M during play.
WHAT YOU NEED TO RUN NAGS
NAGS requires an IBM or completely compatible PC with at least 512k of
memory and an EGA or better video display. NAGS will NOT run on CGA,
Hercules Mono, or MCGA based machines. A hard disk is faster, but not
necessary. To use any of the printing functions, your printer must be
configured as LPT1.
< 5 >
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to NAGS.
NAGS is a horse racing game that can be played by up to six players.
Each race has six horses (chosen from a "stable" of over 200), and
each player selects the horse they want to bet on and specifies how
much they want to bet on that race. You can bet on a horse to WIN, PLACE
or SHOW. Obviously, "WIN" means FIRST. "PLACE" means second, and "SHOW"
means THIRD. If the horse you pick finishes in the position you bet on,
you win the amount of your bet multiplied by the odds for your horse.
For example, suppose you bet $20 on horse #3 to PLACE (finish in second
place), and horse #3 has 3:1 (three to one) odds. If horse #3 does
finish in second place you would collect $60 (3 x $20) for that race.
The $60 is added to the amount you have remaining AFTER the bet was
made.
Unlike the "real thing", NAGS has an unlimited "bettors pool". In other
words, the amount you can win has no relationship to how much (in total)
is bet. Fortunately, although NAGS preys upon the "gambler" within most
of us, it's played with computer money instead of the real thing. That
way, when you go home with your pockets empty, you have no explaining to
do and no guilt!
* Operating Modes
NAGS has two modes of play; manual and automatic. Manual mode allows YOU
to select which horse you want to bet on, and how much you want to bet.
Automatic mode randomly selects the horse for you, bets a predetermined
amount on each race, and will automatically run each race for you.
Automatic play will continue until:
* You're broke (you can't bet the $2 minimum)
* A specified number of races have been run
* You stop the racing by pressing any key
In manual mode, you can bet any amount you wish as long as it's at least
$2.00 and not more than you have remaining.
The SHAREWARE version of the game has a $1000 limit on the amount that can
be bet for each race, and each player starts the game with $50 in
"seed money". The REGISTERED version has NO bet limit (you'll be able to
win big bucks real quick!), and each player starts with $500 in
"seed money". Other than these differences, both the shareware and the
registered versions are identical in play.
In both versions of NAGS, the minimum bet amount is $2.00. If you have
less than that remaining, you are considered broke.
The game contains over 200 horses, and statistics are kept for each
horse. The REGISTERED version of NAGS comes with a utility program
that allows viewing of these statistics. The statistics are not
necessarily helpful in picking your horse, but they are interesting.
< 6 >
I don't profess to be a horse racing expert (I've only gone to the races
twice in my life!), so I'm sure that as time goes on, NAGS will
continually evolve, become more realistic, and technically correct.
For now though, NAGS is a fun, addictive game meant to be enjoyed by
all who play it, young or old.
INSTALLING NAGS ON A HARD DISK
NAGS contains an installation program that makes installing it on a
hard disk easy for you. At the DOS prompt (usually c:\>), insert the
NAGS floppy disk into your A: disk drive and type:
A:NAGSINST < then press enter >
A directory called NAGS will be created on your hard disk, and all
necessary files will be copied from the NAGS disk to your hard disk.
Once this process is completed, type NAGS to run the game.
To run NAGS in the future, change to the NAGS directory, then type NAGS.
NAGS may also be installed in a directory of your choice by first
changing to that directory and then copying ALL of the files from the
NAGS distribution floppy disk into that directory. For example:
1. Change to the directory you want NAGS to be installed in, like this:
CD\GAMES
2. Insert the NAGS disk into your floppy drive.
3. Copy all of the files from the NAGS disk into the directory, like
this:
COPY A:*.* C:
RUNNING NAGS FROM A FLOPPY DISK
Running NAGS from a floppy disk requires that the NAGS floppy disk is
NOT write protected. For this reason, it's best if you make a copy of
your original disk, and then use the copy. Simply insert the NAGS
diskette (preferably the COPY!), make sure the drive is the currently
active drive (you should have the A:\> or B:\> prompt on your screen),
then type NAGS.
* TIP: *
Always make a backup copy of your NAGS distribution disk, and then use
the COPY for play. Store the original disk in a safe place in case you
need it again.
You must leave the disk inserted while playing the game so NAGS can
update the Hall Of Fame and the horse statistics files.
< 7 >
STARTUP OPTIONS
NAGS has four "start-up" options that you can specify when you type
the command line that starts the game. These options determine how NAGS
will run. The options are entered along with the command to run the
game. These options can be in ANY order, but each must be separated
by a space.
* Automatic Play Mode
NAGS defaults to manual play mode, but you can tell it to run
automatically by adding a '-A' (without the quotes) on the command line
when you start the game, like this:
NAGS -A
There MUST be a space before the - sign, and the 'A' can be either upper
or lower case.
In this mode, NAGS will continue to run races until all players are
broke, or until a key is pressed. If you press a key while in auto mode,
the winnings and "seed money" are reset to their original amounts before
control is returned to manual operation. Each bet amount will be 10% of
the player's remaining amount, subject to the minimum bet amount of
$2.00, and limited to $1000.00 in unregistered versions of the game.
* Automatic Play with fixed bet amounts
If you select AUTOMATIC PLAY as described above, NAGS will bet 10% of
the amount you have remaining on each race, rounded to the nearest whole
dollar. You can tell NAGS that you want to bet the SAME amount on each
race if you wish, like this:
NAGS -A -B50
The number -B50 in the above example tells NAGS to bet $50 on each race
run in AUTOMATIC MODE. You can substitute any amount you want (unless
your copy is a Shareware one in which the bet limit is $1000).
When started like this, NAGS will continue to bet $50 on each race,
until you are broke, or until you press a key to stop the auto mode.
Be sure to enter spaces between the commands as shown above.
When you stop auto mode (by pressing any key), your winnings are erased,
and the game starts again with the original "seed money" amount.
< 8 >
* Automatic Play for a specified number of races
You can tell NAGS to run some number of races, then return control of
the betting back to manual mode. Here's an example:
NAGS -A -B50 -R11
In this example, NAGS will start in the AUTOMATIC MODE, bet $50 on
each race, then return control to you after the 11th race is completed.
Naturally, you can use any number instead of the 11 in the example.
When started like this, NAGS will continue to run races automatically
until:
* You're broke OR
* 11 races have completed OR
* You stop it by pressing any key
Note that if you enter zero for a betting amount in the above example,
NAGS will default to betting 10% of your remaining amount.
If you press a key while in auto mode, NAGS will restart the game
after the current race is completed, and reset your winnings and
"seed money". If you allow NAGS to complete the specified number of
races, control is returned to you, but winnings are NOT reset.
* NO SOUND
NAGS plays a tune at the beginning of the game, and produces various
other sounds as the race progresses. If you don't want any sound, you
can turn it off by starting the game with "-NS" as one of the start-up
options. Something like this:
NAGS -A -NS
The -NS means "no sound". The above example would start NAGS in auto
mode without any sound effects. NAGS will continue without any sound
for as long as you are playing, or until you press the F10 key. The F10
key toggles the sound ON or OFF. Make sure you separate the -NS option
from any others with a space as shown above.
Remember, if you find the sound annoying after awhile, you can turn it
off at any time by pressing F10. To turn it on, press F10 again.
* REMINDER *
Commands can be entered in any sequence, but all commands MUST be
separated by a space. In summary, the command line looks like this:
NAGS <-A for auto> <-B20 for bet> <-R5 number of races> <-NS no sound>
< 9 >
* FORCING EGA MODE
Race The Nags attempts to make sure you have at least an EGA capable
display adapter in your computer. Some types of computers may not
correctly identify what kind of display adapter they have. If your
computer is one of these, a message will appear on your screen telling
you that Race The Nags could not find and EGA capable in your computer.
If you are SURE that do in fact have an EGA adapter card installed,
Race The Nags may still be able to run on your machine.
You can for Race The Nags to ASSUME that you do have an EGA adapter by
starting the game with this command line:
NAGS -e <any other options can be added here>
The -e (or -E) anywhere in the command line will cause Race The Nags to
assume an EGA card is present.
If your computer does NOT have a compatible EGA card and you try to
force EGA mode, strange things may happen and your computer may "lock up"
requiring you to re-boot the machine. If this happens, you're out of luck
and cannot run Race The Nags on your computer.
< 10 >
PLAYING THE GAME
Once you've got that beautiful title screen on your display, press any
key to begin play.
* Entering Player Names
When the title clears, a green box will pop onto your screen. This
box is used to enter the names of all players. Once a name has been
entered, it cannot be changed. All characters you type will be
converted to upper case.
After you type in a name, press the ENTER key to move the cursor
to the next name line. If there are no more names to enter, just
press the ENTER key.
The player name window and the remainder of the title screen will
disappear and the track will be drawn.
* Placing Your Bets
After the track is drawn, another green box will appear. This is the
BETTING BOX. The betting box contains four columns labeled PLAYER,
BETTING, HORSE, and W-P-S.
The names of all players will appear in the left-most column of the
box, and the cursor will be positioned in the BETTING column for the
first player. Enter the amount the player wants to bet, the horse he or
she wants to bet on, and a W, P, or S indicating if the bet is to WIN,
PLACE, or SHOW. If a horse is picked to WIN, that horse must finish first
for the player to win any money. If a horse is picked to PLACE, the horse
must finish second OR first for the player to win money. If a horse is
picked to SHOW, the horse must finish first, second or third to win
money. The payback amount varies depending on whether WIN, PLACE or
SHOW is chosen. See the section titled "THE ODDS and the PAYBACK" later
in this manual for a complete explanation.
Once these choices are made (when the ENTER key is pressed) they cannot
be changed. More than one player can bet on a particular horse.
After all players have placed their bets, the BETTING BOX clears, and
the races begins.
The horses gallop across the screen from left to right. It's common
for the lead to change several times during a race. It's also
possible for a jockey (or more than one!) to fall off his horse, thus
eliminating him from the race. Naturally, the first horse to reach the
finish line is the winner, but races can sometimes be VERY close!
When the race is over, a RACE RESULTS box will appear that lists all
players and how they fared in the race. If you're playing the game in
manual mode, press any key after you've finished viewing the results.
If in AUTO mode, the box will clear after a few seconds.
< 11 >
Once the RESULTS box has cleared, the BETTING BOX will appear again. If
you are playing the game in manual mode, you must enter the bets for
all players (except those that are broke!). If you are running the game
in AUTO mode, bets will be placed automatically. Once the BETTING BOX
clears, the next race will begin.
SPECIAL COMMANDS
NAGS has six special command keys that you should be aware of. They are
the BOSS MODE KEY, the HALL OF FAME key, and the SOUND KEY, the SAVE
GAME key, the MILLIONAIRES CLUB key, and the HELP key. Each is explained
below.
* BOSS MODE *
We all know what this is!
At any time during the game, play can be suspended immediately by
pressing ALT-Z (hold down the ALT key while you press the Z key). The
screen will clear to black, and a dummy directory listing will appear.
This dummy listing will disappear and the game will continue at the same
point when you press any key.
* VIEW HALL OF FAME *
NAGS maintains a list of the 10 highest scores, along with the name
of the player and the date. This list is normally displayed when you
quit the game, but you can view it any time during play by pressing
ALT-V (hold down the ALT key while you press the V key). When the
NAGS HALL OF FAME is displayed, press P to print it, or any other
key to clear it.
The HALL OF FAME is only updated when you quit the game. In other words,
even if you have more money than the highest score, your name will not
appear in the HALL OF FAME until you "go home" (by quitting) from the
race track.
The HALL OF FAME is stored in a file called FAME.TXT on your disk. It is
a simple text file that can be viewed with almost any word processing
program. Don't try to edit it. If you do, be SURE to keep the format
correct or your HALL OF FAME will look like junk when you view it from
within the NAGS program. (you wouldn't edit it....would you?). If
SOMEHOW this file gets corrupted, just erase it. NAGS will create a new
default one for you.
* SOUND ON-OFF *
Pressing the F10 key at any time turns the sound ON if it's OFF, or
OFF if it's ON.
< 12 >
* SAVE GAME *
You can save a game at any point during play by pressing the F8 key.
The current status of the game will be saved in a file called NAGS.SAV.
This file will occupy about 40k of disk space, so be sure you've got
at least that much room available on your disk.
If you have a saved game, the next time you run NAGS, it will ask you
if you want to restore the saved game, erase the saved game, or preserve
it for playing another time.
* MILLIONAIRES CLUB *
Pressing ALT-M any time during game play will display the names of
players who have earned membership in the MILLIONAIRES CLUB.
NAGS maintains a file called MILLION.TXT. At the end of each game, all
players are checked to see if they have a million dollars or more in
winnings. If a player has accumulated a million dollars or more in
winnings, he or she is made a member of the NAGS MILLIONAIRES CLUB. A
newly "elected" MILLIONAIRES CLUB member will earn a SPECIAL DISCOUNT
COUPON that is worth $5.00 off either the NAGS registration fee, or
towards an order for any other program offered by Olsen Outdoors.
* HELP *
You can press the F1 key at any time during play to view the list of
Race The Nags commands. These commands cannot be executed while the
list is displayed. They are only to help you remember what the various
keys do.
While the HELP window is visible, you can press the P key to print a
list of these commands.
* SEE STATISTICS *
Pressing ALT-S (hold down the ALT key while you press the S key) while
the betting window is displayed will show you the current statistics for
the six horses in the race about to be run. Pressing ALT-S while the
PLAYER NAME window is displayed will not display any statistics because
the horses for the next race have not been chosen yet. Pressing ALT-S
at any other time will show you the statistics for the horses currently
running, or for the race just completed.
< 13 >
THE ODDS and the PAYBACK
Before you place your bets on a race, the odds for that race will be
shown in the ODDS DISPLAYS at the lower right of your screen. These
odds help determine the chances of a horse winning as well as the
amount you'll win if your horse comes in first (WIN), second (PLACE) or
third (SHOW).
* Win
A WIN will pay back the amount of the bet multiplied by the ODDS for the
winning horse, less the amount of the original bet. For example, if a
horse has 2:1 (two to one) odds, and you place a $10 bet on that horse
to WIN and it IS the winner, you will get your $10 bet back, plus an
additional $10. If the horse does not WIN, you lose your $10 bet.
* Place
PLACE means finishing second. If you bet on a horse to PLACE, you will
win money if that horse finishes EITHER first OR second. The amount you
win is again determined by the amount of your bet multiplied by the
odds for the horse except that instead of the full amount (that would
have been earned by a WIN bet), you will receive somewhere between
20 and 25% of the WIN amount, less, of course, your original bet.
A horse that PLACES with a $20 bet and 10:1 odds, would pay like this:
$20 (bet) x 10 (ODDS) = $200
- $20 (less original bet)
--------
$180
x 20 to 25% (times PLACE percent)
--------
$36 to $45 (payback range)
* Show
SHOW means finishing third. If you bet on a horse to SHOW, you win money
if the horse finishes ANYWHERE in the top three for the race. The payback
percentage for a SHOW bet is between 10 and 15% of the WIN amount, less
your original bet. Using the same amounts as described under PLACE, the
payback would be between $18 and $27 for a SHOW bet.
Obviously, it's easier to win money with a SHOW bet, but the payback
amounts is significantly less than a WIN, and somewhat lower than a
PLACE.
Although a horse with 2:1 odds has a statistically better chance of
winning than does a horse with 10:1 odds, it is by no means a sure bet.
In other words, a horse with 20:1 odds can still win even if all other
horses have lower odds....but it's a "long shot".
In all cases, the horse must finish in the position you bet on OR HIGHER
to receive a payback, Otherwise, you lose your bet.
< 14 >
THE HORSES
NAGS contains over 200 horses that are randomly selected for each
race. Because they're randomly selected, it's possible for a horse
to race in two or more successive races. After each race, a statistics
file is updated. This file maintains the race records for each horse.
Races entered, races won, and winning percentage are stored in this
file.
The REGISTERED version of NAGS is supplied with a utility program
that allows viewing and printing of these statistics. Installing new
versions of NAGS will not overwrite this file.
THE STATS PROGRAM
As previously mentioned, if you have the REGISTERED version of NAGS,
there is a utility program on your disk called STATS.EXE. This program
enables you to view the statistics on over 200 horses.
To run the STATS program, type STATS after you have finished playing
NAGS. You must be in the directory where NAGS has been installed if you
are running NAGS from your hard disk. In most cases, this directory is
called NAGS if you used the NAGSINST program when you originally
installed the game.
A list of all horses will appear on your screen. In the top left corner
the total number of races you have run with NAGS is shown. In the bottom
line are some instructions showing which key to press for the various
actions you want to perform. Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to scroll
through the list of horses one line at a time. Use the PGUP and PGDN
keys to scroll through the list of names a full screen at a time. To
PRINT the statistics, press "P" (without the quotes!).
To EXIT from the STATS program, press the ESC key.
Statistics shown are:
* The TOTAL number of races you've run with your copy of NAGS.
* How many races each horse has been entered in.
* How many races each horse has won.
* How many races each horse finished in second place.
* How many races each horse finished in third place.
* The winning percentage of each horse
* Each horse's career winnings.

A few extra words....
The EVALUATION version of NAGS is distributed under the concept of
SHAREWARE. Under this concept, individuals are free to use, copy and
distribute this program without charge. You are not permitted to sell
it either by itself or as part of a package. The author retains all of
the rights to the program. The idea of SHAREWARE is a good one. It helps
us all to obtain some really good software at a price we can all afford.
If the SHAREWARE concept is going to continue, we need to support the
efforts of the software authors.
Shareware distributors who are NOT members of the Association Of
Shareware Professionals (ASP) MUST write requesting distribution
permission. A sample catalog and other information normally sent to
their customers will speed up the process. They should read the file
VENDOR.DOC on the NAGS disk and be prepared to adhere to the
requirements contained in it.
Distributors who are ASP members are free to distribute NAGS without
further permission from the author.
BBS SYSOPS are free to distribute NAGS without obtaining permission
from the author. They should read the file SYSOP.DOC on the NAGS disk
and use the file description and file name contained in SYSOP.DOC. If
the BBS software will accept a FILE_ID.DIZ program description file,
they should use the one contained on the NAGS disk.
NON-PROFIT users groups may also distribute NAGS without requesting
author permission. They should read the SYSOP.DOC file and the VENDOR.DOC
file that appears on the NAGS disk and adhere to the requirements
contained in those files.
If you enjoy NAGS, please register your copy of the program. To register,
just fill out the registration form (at the end of this document or from
the REGISTER.TXT file on your disk), and send it together with your
registration fee of $17.00 (cash, check or money order in U.S. funds) to
the address shown below. Registered users will receive, free of charge,
the latest version of NAGS. This registered version has NO limits on the
amount you can bet, and you start off with $500 instead of $50. In
addition, the registered version contains a nifty utility program that
displays statistics on all of the horses (races entered, races won, and
winning percentage).
If you've ALREADY registered, THANK YOU!
If you pass this program on to others, either on floppy disk or through
bulletin boards, please be sure to attach this document, and be sure that
you pass along ONLY the EVALUATION version.

IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE....
If you have trouble running Race The Nags, refer to the file on your
disk called Q&A.TXT. It contains common questions and problems people
have asked regarding the game. We've found that most questions can be
answered by reading this file, and the manual. So, before calling or
writing, please read them.
CREDITS
NAGS was inspired by my wife, Sally <grin>. Sally is the one who keeps
things on an even keel around here. I envy her organizational skills and
appreciate her infinite patience and unending support.
NAGS was beta tested, critiqued, and whipped into shape by:
1. My nephews, Chris and Jon Macomber (ages 15 and 10 respectively)
2. My good friend, mentor, and fellow software author, Nels Anderson.
Nels is the author of MahJongg, Shooting Gallery, SuperFly and Cipher
among others. He's also a heck of a good pilot!
3. Another good friend, Dan Linton, of the Software Creations BBS.
Dan is also the author of Picture Puzzle.
4. Yet another long-time friend and 'software type', Tom Ganley. Tom
and I worked together for many years "in another life".
5. My 'gal Friday' and stepdaughter, Pam Landry. Pam helps out around here
whenever she can, filling orders, answering mail & phone, and supplying
distributors with up-to-date versions.
6. Pam's three year old daughter, Sarah. The luckiest bettor I know!
7. My daughter, Krista Eisenhaur (also my 'gal Saturday'). Krista
mostly does disk duplication, but she'll be helping out more now
that she lives closer. Having Sally, Pam, and Krista frees me up to
do more of what I like best...program!
8. My brother-in-law, Brian Macomber. Brian helped me understand the
betting process, and provided me with a racing program from one of
his local tracks that gave me more insight into horse racing.
If you've got a modem, give these two BBS systems a call:
Xevious (sysop Nels Anderson) at (508) 875-3618
Software Creations (sysop Dan Linton) at (508) 365-2359
These are two of the best BBS's in the country! Both have many lines
and LOTS of files!
